In April 2004, MRF was selected by the City of Toronto to perform professional
services for Etobicoke sewer data capture and
attribution. MRF’s experience and expertise in
Engineering plans, data conversion, QA/QC, and software development were
the key factors for this project. The Sewer data conversion of Etobicoke area was completed in 2004. Because of MRF’s excellent work, The City of Toronto selected
MRF again in August 2005 to perform the sewer and storm drain conversion
for the former City of North York.
MRF has
developed a set of software tools to automatically locate the
corresponding engineering documents, capture sewer geometry and
attributes, perform data validation and QA/QC tasks. Major tasks of the project included:
·
Development of data conversion specification and work plan
·
Development of software tools for data conversion and QA/QC
·
Georeferencing of sewer engineering plans
and profile images
·
Capture of sewer geometry and attributes, including sanitary and
storm features.
·
Field inspection as necessary
·
Geometry connectivity validation
·
Attribute validation
·
QA/QC of data set
