MRF Clean
MRF
Clean for GeoMedia and GeoMedia Pro is a multi-tolerance, multi-feature
class data cleaning software tool.
MRF
Clean can:
- Correct
over-shooting and under-shooting
- Remove
duplicate points, lines, etc.
- Extend
line segments to maintain bearing (direction)
- Ease
construction of topologies by creating intersections in crossing
line-work
- Remove
dangling lines, or flag them for manual review and editing
- Join
lines and polyline to create single features
- Merge
line-work with approximately the same geometry (conflation)

The Main Dialog Box for MRF Clean
MRF
Clean for GeoMedia / GeoMedia Professional has eight processing modules:
- Line
Simplification - removes line string vertices based on
user-specified tolerances.
- Short
Geometry Processing - will flag or delete features with geometries
that are shorter than the tolerance specified for the feature class.
- Linear
Extension - extends linear geometries–correcting for
undershoots–while maintaining linework direction.
- Intersection
Creation - flags and/or creates true and fuzzy intersections. It has
geometry intersection, clustering, and splitting sub-functions
- Duplicate
Removal - removes features deemed to be duplicates.
- Linear
Geometry Joining - joins singly connected linear features to create
longer ones. The benefit of this is that the number of geographic
features is reduced, making many mapping/GIS operations more
efficient.
- Conflation
- changes the geometry of one linear element to match that of
another, if the two are approximately the same to begin with (within
tolerance of each other).
- Dangle
Processing - either flags the dangle elements (deadends) with a
letter "D" or deletes them (if the delete option is chosen).
